Crucially, Professor Liu actively encourages scholars from around the world to pursue cutting-edge research on diverse aspects of the ancient world. Join us for a discussion of the reception of the Graeco-Roman classics in China and more.

Liu Jinyu is a professor of classical studies at DePauw University. Professor Liu’s research interests include interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the Roman Empire and the translating of classical texts in a global context.

 

Having completed her Ph.D. in Roman History at Columbia University in 2004, Professor Liu is an established scholar whose publications include research monographs, chapters in edited volumes, and other academic texts in both English and Chinese. Most recently, her Ovid in China: Reception, Translation, and Comparison, co-edited with Thomas J. Sienkewicz, was published by Brill in 2022.
